What was reported
A seven-man logging crew said a glowing disc over a clearing struck Travis Walton with a beam as he approached it, and the others drove off; Walton was missing for five days and then reported being aboard a craft with beings. Five of the six crewmen passed police polygraphs about whether they had harmed him (the sixth was inconclusive); Walton failed an early polygraph arranged by the National Enquirer and passed later ones. Skeptics argued a hoax motivated by the crew's overdue Forest Service contract. In 2021 crew boss Mike Rogers publicly renounced his status as a witness to the abduction without explaining why.
