What was reported

At about 10 p.m. the household of the Moreno farm, among them sisters Yolie Moreno de Colotti and Argentina Moreno de Chávez and employee Dora Martínez Guzmán, saw several luminous objects by the railway line for about 40 minutes, with figures moving in their beams; witnesses reported strong heat. Police inspector Marcos Fidencio Hidalgo filed a report, and the National University of Tucumán analysed a white powder from the site as calcium carbonate with some potassium carbonate. Accounts disagree on injuries: some say Martínez Guzmán was burned and hospitalised, while the surviving sister told La Gaceta no injury was documented. A local explanation points to troops then moved along the line for training.
