What was reported

From about 7:20 to 10:20 p.m. people at the Bonaventure Hotel watched eight to ten bright lights arranged in a circle above the rooftop pool, emitting white rays and drifting slowly north. Estimates put the formation at about 540 metres across, though no distance was measured. La Presse reported it the next day and several witnesses discussed it on CBC television. No investigation established the cause.
