What was reported
15 minutes of cell-phone rear-camera video from the same Colorado officer as PR001/003/004, the richest and longest file in the batch by witness narration. The officer describes a light that returns nightly, appears to separate into two lights, projected a red-and-blue beam into the patrol vehicle the previous night, moves in triangular patterns, hovers for hours, and has twice 'disappeared in an instant' at what the officer calls supersonic speed. AARO's autofocus comment applies here too.
What officials concluded
Tentative explanation
AARO notes that the type of cellular device used employs autofocus and other automated image-processing functions that can distort the apparent shape and motion of a distant subject, especially at high zoom -- offered as a general caveat,…

AARO comment
Cellular devices of the type used to capture this footage employ autofocus and other automated image-processing functions that may distort the apparent morphological and kinematic characteristics of distant subjects, particularly at high magnification.

Why this rating The longest and most detailed firsthand narration in the batch, with specific claimed behaviors (recurring multi-night appearance, an alleged beam projected into the patrol vehicle, and two self-reported instantaneous 'supersonic' disappearances) that a conventional light source would not produce as described; still a single hand-held camera, an unsworn real-time narration under likely high zoom (where AARO's autofocus caveat applies), and none of the more dramatic claims (the beam, the disappearances) actually occur on camera within this clip.
As described in the file
- Witnesses
- One local law enforcement officer (unnamed, redacted), firsthand, real-time narration, not sworn
- Sensors
- Cell-phone rear-facing camera
- Shape
- Possibly two distinct lights within one 'orb' (officer's tentative impression)
- Lights and colour
- Bright red and blue beam (officer's description of a prior night's incident)
- Motion
- Gains altitude, moves west, approaches the officer, and (on two prior occasions, per the officer, not shown in this clip) disappears instantly at self-described 'supersonic speed'; also described flying in triangular motions over hours
- Duration
- 15 minutes
- Altitude or range
- Above a nearby power line (per officer's real-time narration)
- Effects
- Officer reports a red-and-blue beam shone into his patrol vehicle on a prior night (not shown in this clip, recounted verbally)

The richest of the four Colorado transcripts: a 15-minute silent video's audio-derived narration in which a law enforcement officer describes tracking a light that has appeared on consecutive nights, that gains and loses altitude, flies in triangular patterns, and stays visible for hours. The officer recalls that the previous night one of the objects shined a bright red-and-blue beam into his patrol vehicle, and describes having twice seen similar objects disappear instantly at what he calls 'supersonic speed.' The object is reported moving toward the officer's position and getting brighter by the end of the transcript.
