What was reported
Night guard Yalcin Yalman filmed lights over the Sea of Marmara at dawn on about 23 occasions between 2007 and 2009, roughly two and a half hours of footage; the Sirius UFO group under Haktan Akdogan promoted the videos, and enhanced frames were said to show figures inside a craft. Direct witnesses come down to Yalman and two locals who saw lights over the water, plus ufologist Roger Leir watching the camera screen. Yalman said he was guided by Grey aliens, a TUBITAK report on the footage has been widely misquoted, and analysts attribute the 'figures' to pareidolia in noisy, repeatedly enhanced frames. The lights themselves were never identified.
