What was reported

At about 6:47 a.m. on 9 November 2018 the pilot of British Airways flight 94 (Montreal to Heathrow) asked Shannon control about a very bright light that came up on the left of the aircraft and veered north at very high speed; controllers said nothing showed on primary or secondary radar. A Virgin Atlantic pilot (Orlando to Manchester) reported multiple objects on the same trajectory, perhaps a meteor, and a Norwegian crew also saw lights. The Irish Aviation Authority filed a report for its confidential occurrence process and published no finding. Commentators at the time attributed the lights to a meteor entering at a shallow angle, which fits the multiple-crew description but was never confirmed.
