What was reported

FBI FD-302 recording an October 2025 interview of a U.S. person about an October 2023 sighting in a parking lot. The witness saw a stationary, pixelated/distorted dark-gray cloud from which a large, equilateral, solid-black triangular object with a diffuse red light at each corner emerged, roughly 3-5 stories thick; it moved south at helicopter-like speed and altitude (3,000-5,000 ft) with visible heat-shimmer-like waves around it, then almost instantaneously accelerated to an estimated Mach 1-2, banked oddly, and vanished as the cloud also disappeared. When the witness called his wife about a minute later, she said his voice sounded 'robotic,' as if there were electronic interference on the line.

Why this rating Described performance (near-instant supersonic acceleration with an unconventional bank and no sonic boom, plus a possible EM interference effect) would exceed known technology if accurate, but this rests on a single, unaided visual witness with no video, photo, or independent sensor confirmation, capping it below strong.

As described in the file

Witnesses
1 witness (firsthand)
Sensors
Visual only
Shape
Equilateral triangle, solid black, emerging from a stationary distorted cloud
Size
Estimated as large as the parking lot the witness stood in, 3-5 stories thick
Lights and colour
A constant diffuse red light at each of the three corners
Motion
Initial speed/altitude comparable to a helicopter, then near-instantaneous acceleration to an estimated Mach 1-2 with an unconventional 90-degree bank
Duration
Not precisely specified; extended sequence including the cloud, level flight, and acceleration/departure
Altitude or range
Initially 3,000-5,000 feet, comparable to small civilian aircraft
Effects
Visible heat-shimmer/mirage-like waves around the object; possible electromagnetic interference on the witness's phone call roughly 60 seconds later

FBI-UAP-D031, Digital Rendering, "Large Triangle with Red Lights," 2023

An FBI-commissioned digital rendering, "Large Triangle with Red Lights," illustrating an October 2023 sighting near Colorado Springs, Colorado, based on the first-hand account of a U.S. Person recorded in the paired FD-302 (FBI-UAP-D030, an October 2025 interview). Per that FD-302, the witness was outside with a co-worker at night when a stationary, pixelated-looking dark-gray cloud appeared, from which a large solid-black equilateral triangle emerged with a red light at each corner, estimated 3-5 stories thick; it moved south at a steady speed comparable to a helicopter, then abruptly accelerated to near-supersonic speed with a mirage-like wave effect around it, banked 90 degrees in a manner the witness says was opposite how a conventional aircraft banks, made no sound, and was followed roughly a minute later by the witness's phone call sounding "robotic" with apparent interference.

What the file claims

2
  • Unverified

The witness described the triangle emerging from a stationary, pixelated-looking cloud that also vanished when the object left.

  • Unverified

The object accelerated to an estimated Mach 1-2 almost instantaneously with no sound, and the witness's wife reported his voice sounded robotic on a call shortly after.
