What was reported

FD-1057 documenting FBI contact (October 2024, following an August 2024 referral from a local FBI liaison contact) with a U.S. person who reported years of recurring 'plasma orb'-like UxS/UAP sightings near their residence, dating back to an initial observation in November 2021. The witness, who says they were a skeptic before 2021, described objects hovering static or moving, seen above the horizon and also close to the ground, in trees, and near water, sometimes within 200 yards of the home; provided multiple video clips from October 2024 of renewed activity; has used trail cameras and other sensors on the property; and reported observing spikes in gamma radiation and unusual effects on electronics and GPS devices correlating with the sightings. One neighbor separately told the witness they had also seen strange lights in the same tree line. The witness asked that this not become public, citing family privacy and not wanting to alarm neighbors.

Why this rating A years-long series of claims from a single primary witness using their own uncalibrated, unverified sensor equipment (trail cameras, unspecified radiation/electronics monitors); the FBI's role here is limited to collecting the witness's material, with no independent measurement or confirmation of the radiation or electronics claims in this document, and only one secondhand, unspecific neighbor corroboration.

As described in the file

Witnesses
One primary long-term witness (self-described former skeptic); one neighbor separately reported similar lights in the same tree line
Sensors
Visual, consumer video, trail cameras, witness's own unspecified radiation and electronics/GPS monitoring equipment
Lights and colour
Described as 'plasma orb'-like lights
Motion
Observed both hovering in a static position and moving
Altitude or range
As close as 200 yards from the residence; observed above the horizon, near the ground, in trees, and near water
Effects
Witness-reported spikes in gamma radiation and unusual effects on electronics and GPS data correlating with observation times (not independently verified by the FBI in this document)

2
  • Unverified

The witness reported observing spikes in gamma radiation that correlate with the times they observed the objects.
