What was reported

Range Fouler Debrief: after 'KINGPIN' (a controller) directed identification of an unknown contact, the crew obtained radar lock and targeting-pod video but could not close closer than 16.9 NM. The targeting pod showed 2 infrared-significant contacts; one range fouler circled the other before both disappeared within 1/30th of a second. Tally was achieved as '2x red blinking strobes,' and the crew simultaneously received noise jamming (indicated by two chevrons on their display). Form checkboxes mark the objects as balloon-shaped, metallic, and reflective.

Why this rating This is the one Range Fouler form in the batch with more than one instrument (radar lock plus targeting-pod video) simultaneously on the same contact, and it co-occurs with a recorded electronic-warfare jamming event -- a combination worth further scrutiny -- but the form's own checkboxes describe the objects as balloon-shaped, metallic and reflective (i.e. a mundane physical description), and an instantaneous disappearance 'within 1/30th of a second' is more consistent with a sensor dropout or handoff than a physical vanishing.

  • Unverified

The crew obtained a radar lock and targeting-pod video on two IR-significant contacts, one circling the other, both of which vanished within 1/30th of a second; the crew simultaneously received noise jamming.
